In addition to these results, they lost narrowly to Division 1
side, Bedfont Sunday Reserves in the Riverside Challenge Trophy,
3-2.
As far as I’m concerned, Feltham are going to be a tough team
and we will have to raise our game for this. Losing to Dynamo
Ealing is absolutely no disgrace whatsoever as Dynamo Ealing are
one of the favourites to win the league, along with AFC Sparta and
Duke of York Wanderers. Armenian Youth Association are also
considered to be a team that will be challenging, albeit they are a
little less consistent, so Feltham Cowboys are clearly a side who
can score a few, and if we make mistakes, are likely to punish
us. If we are on our game, then we should stand a great
chance of winning. I’m sure that they will view us similarly,
and will raise their game in order to get a victory over us.
This is going to be a tough game and one where we must be on the
ball.
The squad that will be facing Feltham Cowboys is as follows:
Alex
Milf
Stoney
Carlos
Pezza
Mozza
Ceadel
Rhys
Sniffles
Triggernator
Knowlesey
Den the Hawkster
Andy
Jules
Goldie declared himself unavailable, whilst I have dropped a
couple of players because I have not seen them at training (not
necessarily their fault I know) or they have not performed to a
higher level than players who are currently in their
positions. As you can see, I have recalled the Hawkster and
Milf to the team, whilst Ceadel and Rhys have retained their places
for the squad on merit.
The game is a 10.30am kick-off at Warren Farm. You can
either meet us at 9.30am at Warren Farm or you can meet us at
McDonald’s at 9.10am. If you are running late, just call me
as we will be leaving McDonald’s at 9.15am sharp. Please do
not be late (Sniffles and Ceadel) and if you are extremely late,
you put your place in the squad at risk. If you drive, I’d
obviously prefer if you come to McD’s first.
This season, we have shown many positive aspects to our play,
but we have looked our best when we have gotten the ball on the
deck and passed it around a bit. All the one-touch, two-touch
and three-touch passing in training shows that we have got the
quality, and we must continue to take this into matches. The
workrate and discipline must remain at the high standards that we
have set ourselves. It is vital that we take what we do well
in training into games as we have started to do in recent
games.
I hope that you have an enjoyable weekend and look forward to
seeing you all on Sunday.
Next week, on 20th November, we possibly do not have Alex, Jules
and Andy due to other commitments, which means that we do not have
a keeper. If you want to be the keeper, please can you let me
know and we will have to try out a few potential keepers for next
week’s training session. I will ask Alex and Andy to lend
their keeper gloves for next week too.
Many thanks,
Dan
